There are two candidates for Vice President/President-Elect: Elizabeth Batte and Michael Holt. ACRL-LA Chapter members have received a ballot by email. Voting remains open until October 31st.
Candidate Bios
Elizabeth Batte (she/they) has been in libraries since 2014. Their first five years were spent as part of the Lafourche Parish Public Library system and their most recent years have been spent at Nicholls State University. They are the Library Director and OER Coordinator at Nicholls and part of the Executive Board for LOUIS Deans and Directors. Elizabeth is currently revising a chapter for an upcoming ACRL book on burnout, as well as, beginning research for their EdD dissertation on attrition rates of faculty in higher education.
Michael Holt is new to Louisiana's academic libraries, having just joined LSU over the summer as head of their Research and Instruction Services department. However, he has worked in academic libraries for 15 years, during which time he has been active in academic library assessment, reference and instruction work, and library administration.
